Medo é uma palavra que assusta, é uma sensação que nos cria desconforto com alguma coisa, é algo desagradável.

Quase toda a gente – ou toda a gente, diria eu – tem medo de alguma coisa e, normalmente, quando temos medo(s) acabamos por demonstrá-lo(s) de alguma forma. Ao longo da nossa vida vamos tendo vários tipos de medos, pelo menos comigo foi e é assim.

Ora, ultimamente tenho sentido a Matilde com medo na hora de deitar, ainda nada de preocupante, mas tenho pensado sobre o assunto…

Uma criança tão pequena pode ter medo do quê? Será do escuro? De ficar sozinha (neste caso só com o Tomás)? O que pode ser?

Tenho lido algumas coisas sobre o assunto para tentar perceber o que pode ser. Falei com a Pediatra que me disse que, a partir dos dois anos, podem começar a aparecer os primeiros medos e estes podem estar relacionados com o escuro, a hora de deitar, os animais, entre outras coisas que, apesar de tudo, não deve ser o caso, uma vez que ainda não sabem o que são fantasmas e monstros (segundo a Pediatra, esses medos aparecem mais aos três anos).

Uma vez que nestes últimos dias a Matilde tem estado chorosa na hora de deitar, tenho ficado ao pé dela de mão dada até que se sinta mais calma e, muitas vezes, acaba por adormecer rapidamente. Em regra, chega a casa cansada e depois como ainda brincamos muito fica podre e não costuma demorar a dormir; mas os últimos dias têm sido diferentes, parece ter medo de alguma coisa e não quer que eu vá embora… Muitas vezes só consigo sair do quarto porque uma das irmãs chora e acaba por me deixar ir e muitas vezes por adormecer, outras acaba por se lembrar e volta a chamar por mim aflita como se estivesse com medo de alguma coisa. Fico de coração pequeno de ver a minha bebé assim.

Espero que seja uma fase passageira e que tudo volte ao normal.

Aí em casa já passaram por isto? Quais os medos comuns aos dois anos? O que fizeram?

Para já acabo por lhe dar a mão, contar uma história e esperar que adormeça, nunca pego ao colo para não criar um hábito, mas claro que por vezes deve ser impossível não o fazer.

    Não será medo da separação da mamã? Sei que tem essa fase em bebés por volta dos 6 mesinhos e às vezes reaparece na idade da Matilde.
    Seja o que for a sua atitude é a mais correcta, sejamos pacientes e tal como chegaram esses medos, irão desaparecer.

    ola Mariana. qnd o meu filho mais velho teve esse sintoma, associado tambem ao facto de eu estar ausente por vezes, ele aclamava se dormindo com o meu robe. ainda hoje, com sete anos, quando esta mais nervoso ou eu estou fora, o meu robe é o seu porto seguro. isto p dizer que se ela tiver algo com o cheiro da mae talvez se sinta mais calma e segura. uma sugestao é dormir c um “du-du” durante alguns dias e dps dar lho. ha uns chamados “cusky” – comprei o do G na mariadelina em campo de ourique – que foram criados mesmo par este proposito. um beijinho e que se resolva depressa. anabela

    A minha filha tem 2 anos, umas 2 semanas de diferença da Matilde, e começou a uns dias exatamente igual… Ela sempre foi muito boa para dormir, e dormia sempre sem luz de presença, apenas com a porta do quarto encostada.. De a uns dias para cá, chora na hora da caminha, diz que n quere e fica aflita e repete várias vezes “o urso”. O urso para ela é o monstro, (tem a ver com uns bonecos no panda é que aparece um urso e associa a monstro)… Bastou ums momentos do episodio para nao se esquecer.Comecei a ligar umas luzinhas que estão incorporadas num quadro que ela tem no quarto, e que faz de luz de presença… Digo.lhe que vai dormir com as estrelas e fica fascinada. Por isso acho mesmo que é medo do escuro, a final já não são ums bebezinhos pequeninos e vão ganhado os seus medos.

    Os bebés nesta idade começam a ter uma outra noção do mundo que os rodeia e na sua mais pura ingenuidade vão absorvendo novas vivências, como a entrada na escolinha, novas brincadeiras, a percepção do que é dito nos “bonecos” na TV, etc e as reacções a tudo isto manifestam-se de diferentes formas. O medo é uma delas.
    Calculo que fazem a sesta na creche, já perguntou se a Matilde tem tido este comportamento na hora do descanso? Talvez encontrem, em conjunto, a melhor forma de ajudar a Matilde a serenar na hora de ir dormir.

    Na verdade cada criança tem as suas particularidades e o que funciona para uns dificilmente funciona para outros…
    Dos 3, o mais velho (que agora tem quatro anos) e a a seguir (que tem agora dois e meio) tiveram essa fase e foi completamente diferente para os dois…
    São coisas mesmo muito muito subtis e isso para mim foi sempre muito estimulante… perceber se eram conversas que andavam a ouvir que podiam trazer medos no silência, perceber se algum episódio de algum desenho animado ou mesmo brincadeiras que tios fazem com eles que os podiam estar a assustar…
    Com o mais velho tive que começar a brincar mais com ele no quarto de dormir e ir falando de dia de coisas que o incomodavam ou que nao gostava… e fui percebendo de onde vinham os medos.
    Com a C que tem dois anos e meio agora, começou a ter medos quando o mais novo começou a dar “mais nas vistas” e a fazer mais “gracinhas”….percebi que precisava de um tempo exclusivo de uma maneira calma antes de dormir… momento de meninas com muito mimo… e isso passou. Ainda assim sempre que pode quer ter a atenção de exclusividade antes de dormir por mimo!

I never liked the idea of counting backwards, so I count forwards just to get my mind off things. Also if you journal out your thoughts, that works too.
